Psychiatric Medication

We are fortunate to be able to offer psychiatric medication management in conjunction with our therapy services. This means we can offer an integrated approach. It’s not “two sides working together” it’s just “working together” to help. Your prescriber will see the same assessments as your counselor, and both can collaborate to help you if needed.

In situations where medication makes sense, studies show that combining medication and therapy for treatment improves outcomes over either one on their own. For example, symptoms of major depression, panic disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder are best reduced when medication and therapy are used simultaneously. Medication and counseling are also tag-team partners in treatment, with one targeting symptoms that may interfere with the other. The medication can help get the healing started. Additionally, some conditions are also just best worked on together, such as ADHD or Bipolar disorder.

We do what’s called telepsychiatry, which is online psychiatric services. You don’t have to walk into a psychiatrist’s office, you don’t have to figure out if the prescribing clinican near you is good or just close by. Psychiatric services are often not easy to find, even if you are willing to travel for them, with less than half of American adults with mental illness receiving services in a year. With online psychiatric care, we are where ever you are, and you don’t even have to drive anywhere. We will get to know you, understand what you have or have not tried, and find something that works for you.
